P2P trading FAQ
Clear answers about peer-to-peer trading, escrow, payments, disputes, choosing traders, and avoiding common risks.
P2P Basics
P2P trading lets two users trade directly with each other. The platform helps with offer discovery, escrow, chat, reputation signals, and dispute handling.
On an order book, you trade against pooled market liquidity. In P2P, you choose a specific counterparty, payment method, price, and trade limit.
Each advertiser sets their own price, limits, payment methods, and margin. Faster payment methods, higher limits, or highly rated traders may price differently.
A user with available crypto balance can post an ad, choose buy or sell, set payment methods, define limits, and publish trading terms.
Escrow & Payments
Escrow means the crypto is locked by the platform during the trade. The seller cannot move it elsewhere while the buyer is making payment.
Mark payment as sent only after you have actually transferred the fiat amount using the payment method agreed in the ad.
Release escrow only after the fiat payment is visible in your own bank or wallet account. Screenshots are helpful, but they are not a substitute for checking your balance.
Be careful with third-party payments. Ask for clarification in chat and follow your ad rules. If the payment looks risky, do not release escrow until you are confident it is valid.
No. Once escrow is released, the crypto movement is final. That is why sellers should verify fiat receipt before releasing.
Safety & Disputes
Trade chat gives both users and support a clear record of payment instructions, proof, event updates, and dispute context.
Keep the trade on-platform. Off-platform conversations are harder to verify and may not help during a dispute.
Do not continue outside the platform. Keep escrow locked, explain the issue in chat, and open a dispute from the trade page if needed.
A dispute asks support to review the trade. Chat messages, payment proof, timestamps, and trade events help staff understand what happened.
Use clear screenshots or documents that show amount, date, sender, recipient, transaction reference, and status. Hide unrelated sensitive information where possible.
Choosing Traders
Check completed trades, feedback score, online status, limits, payment methods, and whether the ad terms are clear.
Not always. A slightly better price may come with slower response times, strict rules, or lower reputation. Balance price with reliability.
Limits define the minimum and maximum fiat amount that can be traded on an ad. Pick an offer that matches your intended amount.
Tags and terms help set expectations, such as payment speed, bank requirements, proof rules, or whether third-party payments are accepted.
Accounts & Risk
Yes. Some transfers can be pending, reversed, held for review, or delayed. Sellers should wait for settled funds before releasing escrow.
Common scams include fake payment screenshots, chargeback attempts, impersonation, pressure to release early, and requests to move the conversation off-platform.
Start with smaller trades, choose high-reputation traders, read ad terms carefully, keep chat records, and never release escrow under pressure.
Listings may be available 24/7, but individual traders respond at different times. Online status and recent activity can help you choose faster counterparties.
